We are so excited for this 2015-2016 church school year as we celebrate our 150th anniversary!! Our theme for the year is “Tell Me a Story.” We will have many opportunities to hear stories from history, as well as present and future possibilities throughout the year in all age groups as we continue on our faith journey. I would like to have you take just a minute or two to complete the registration at this link for all children and youth:
It is very important that this is completed as soon as possible so we can have the most up-to-date information about the children and youth here. If you have friends or neighbors interested in checking out our church and Sunday school, feel free to share this message with them!
We hope to see you for the big Sunday School kick off day on Sunday, September 13. Sunday school will be from 9:45-10:45 that day with children ages 2 through 5th grade meeting first in the Sanctuary and then moving on to the children’s education wing for a BIG SURPRISE (and a Bible lesson too!) that the Christian Education team has been working on for the past month. Middle School (E201) and High School (W202) groups will meet in their classrooms for games, getting to know each other time, and a Bible lesson. Young Adults’ Connections class will offer a wonderful opportunity to connect relevant life experiences for this age group (post high school through mid twenties) with the Bible and will meet in the Sarah Room. Adults will have many opportunities to grow their faith as well with Through the Bible (E111), Faith and Reason (E110), and Coffee Talk (Conference Room) classes all going on during the Sunday school hour.
After the 11:00 worship service, we will have a Rally Sunday kick off celebration at Bandshell Park featuring a free meal catered by Hickory Park, a bounce house, a barrel train, an Up With Puppets performance, the local band “The Lawn Chairs” performing, storytelling, face painting, and balloon animals. This will be from noon – 2pm. If it is raining, all activities will take place at the church. Invite your friends!!
We hope to see you all on Sunday, September 13, to help kick off our 150th year!!
