It was announced today in worship service that a new senior pastor has been appointed to Ames First UMC. Rev. Fred Lewis is retiring this year after 16 years at Ames First UMC. He will be greatly missed! The Rev. Dr. Kerrin Kirkpatrick will begin her appointment as the new senior pastor on July 1, 2018. We are very excited to have Pastor Kerrin join us this summer. Here is a brief bio:

Kerrin Kirkpatrick graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Kansas State University in 1978. She worked for various companies as a Design/Development Engineer before discerning her call to ordained ministry. Her last engineering position was as Central Air Conditioning Engineering Manager at Amana Refrigeration. In 1993, she transitioned to pastoral ministry and began seminary at the University of Dubuque Theological Seminary, graduating in 1998 with a Masters of Divinity. Kerrin was ordained a Full Elder in 2000 and later returned to UDTS while serving churches to complete a Doctorate of Ministry in 2009. She has served churches in Buck Creek-Delhi, the Cedar Rapids area, Janesville (Iowa), and is currently Senior Pastor at Asbury UMC in Bettendorf (Quad Cities). Kerrin and her husband Carl have 4 grown children and four grandchildren. She is very excited to be at Ames First UMC, and is looking forward to a great ministry partnership with the congregation.
