Ames First UMC is located in the heart of the historic downtown Ames neighborhood, at the corner of 6th Street and Kellogg Avenue, across the street from the main branch of the US Post Office and one block north of the downtown businesses.
A newly constructed addition on the south side has the easiest access into the building and is unlocked during most of the day. There are doors on both the west and north sides of the building that may be opened during the week, depending upon the church schedule, and are unlocked when there are worship services happening.
City paid parking is available all around the church area and parking is free on Sundays. There may be a few limited parking options on the south side, especially handicapped parking.
Once inside the building, you will find offices, classrooms/community rooms, a chapel, and a social hall on the lower level. The sanctuary and more classrooms and another large multi-purpose room are located on the second level. There is a large elevator located in the new south side addition of the building.
