Hosting special events in our beautiful facility is important to us. By calling the church office at 515-232-2750 and visiting with our Director of Office and Communications is a first step to schedule an event.
Wedding Information – We believe that Christian marriage is a sacred covenant between an engaged man and woman and God. Our church is open to any and all persons who understand marriage in these biblical terms. Couples need to contact the church office to secure a date that corresponds with the schedule of our pastors. One of our pastors will be assigned to the wedding couple and each couple will need to make contact with the assigned pastor months in advance of their wedding. Although a guest pastor may help to officiate at the wedding celebration (at the invitation of our church’s pastor), one of our pastors must take the lead and be involved in the wedding ceremony. The wedding service will follow the rite set forth in our United Methodist worship materials. Premarital counseling will be offered for all couples. Further information regarding policies, scheduling, wedding fees (member and non-member), etc. may be obtained through the church office or through the forms below.
Funerals and Memorial Services – At a time of death, the church seeks to be supportive of bereaved families in a variety of ways. There is no charge for the use of our church facilities for a funeral service, visitation, or luncheon. One of our pastors needs to be present and seen as leading the worship service. Luncheons following a funeral service are handled by a team of women from our UMW unit who try to utilize all congregational members in this service. Though not required to pay anything for the luncheon and no billing is given, persons wishing to make a contribution for the luncheon often do so by basing their thoughts on a per plate cost. Most arrangements of this nature are made in consultation between the funeral homes, families, the church office and pastors.
Anniversary/Birthday Receptions/Reunions/Showers – Our fellowship hall and church parlor can be fine, comfortable settings for a variety of special events. Contact the church office regarding policies, scheduling, and room costs.
Use by Outside Groups – Civic or commercial groups desiring to use space within the church for meetings, activities, programs, and etc. are asked to contact the church office regarding policies, scheduling, and room costs.
